Why StroboPro is different

Why a strobe guitar tuner reads cleaner
On a guitar the wound strings - low E, A, D - carry the most overtone content, and those overtones do not sit at clean integer multiples of the fundamental. A needle tuner averages all of that into one number and flickers; a strobe display lets you watch each overtone settle on its own ring.
When the rings stop moving, the string is in tune. You can also see whether the string is still settling (rings drifting one way) or genuinely flat (rings locked off-pitch), which a needle will not tell you.
This is why strobe tuners are the standard for intonation setup. Comparing the 12th-fret harmonic to the fretted 12th is often a sub-cent call, and on a wound string that is exactly where a needle hides the answer.

Tuning tips: attack, posture, room
A few habits help any tuner read more cleanly:
- Tune with the same attack you play with. Hard picks excite the string differently, and the pitch can sit slightly sharp for the first second before settling.
- Mute the other strings. Sympathetic resonance pulls the reading, especially on open strings near a chord shape.
- Pluck firmly once, then let the string ring. A stable read helps.
- Tune up to pitch, not down. If a string is sharp, pull it slightly above the target and settle back down. This removes slack at the tuner post and keeps the string in tune longer.
